NC Front Jackpoint Chassis Brace

While developing our front tubular bumper bar we knew consumers wanted a jackpoint option. Most cars have a lower front core support designed to be a lifting point & provide structural rigidity by connecting left/right frame rail. The NC Miata does not have a lower radiator core support.

Engineering Design Notes

☆ We set the jackpoint higher to allow clients to add spacers to their liking based on their setup of OEM plastic undertray, aluminum ducting or splitter.  In extreme off track adventures, the spacer/ bolt would break away before bending the bar.

 

☆ Placing the jackpoint brace bar inward has several benefits: 

1) Provides less chance of ground contact under nose dive or ramp angle

2) Provides maximum lift height with floor jack

3) Increase frame rigidity by connecting both frame with 13GA DOM steel tubing & decrease risk of frame damage during corner impacts
