Doryoku Race Bar’s philosophy of use & design
We designed this to be the best value bar on the market when it comes to weight, construction, design, add on options, price and total value. All bars are designed by scanning the OEM bumper bar/foam/support so that we can ensure the best fit and follow the existing shape. The race bar is intended to provide many performance benefits for track car applications (drag /road race) while allowing the user to customize the bar as the car & driver grow.

☆ Dual M8 threaded mounting pucks
M8 pucks make it easy to bolt on intercooler brackets, oil coolers, splitter rods, ducting plate, light bar & and more. We have found these general placement of pucks to work well with NA NB Miata:
Oil cooler : rear , 7" apart
Intercooler : top, 16" apart
Splitter rods : bottom, 20" apart
Other : air horn, light bar, ducting panels & more, please and note your indented use in special instructions. M8 pucks are placed on the bar based on your setup. Consulting will be provided before fabrication.
Engineering Design Notes
☆ Improved handling & balance
The front bar provides 7lbs of weight savings. When sprung weight is reduced off the tip/nose of the car it will improve handling. Think of the vehicle's weight balance as dynamic and constantly changing based on acceleration, braking, turning, ect. The vehicle's balance is easier to control if weight is closer to the center (not past wheels). The further out the weight is, the range of dynamic balance is greater.
☆ Maximum air flow
When using the Doryoku bumper bar, you can cut away the radiator core support which blocks air flow to the top half of the radiator. In force induction application, more room behind the bar allows you to run a larger FMIC. More room allows you to place FMIC further away from the radiator core and provides more air flow/speed as it passes through FMIC rather than having air flow slow down due to having FMIC & radiator stacked up behind one another.
☆ Increase forward chassis rigidity
The factory plastic bumper bar connects both frame rails. The steel bumper bar provides much more rigidity over the plastic bumper tub & helps keep the front end square from corner impacts. The steel bar also is stronger & allows for bump drafting / W2W contact. Our bars are proven by W2W racers in Gridlife GLTC, NASA, SCCA, Champcar Endurance Series.

Q1 : Does this bar work for NA Miata and NB Miata?
A : Yes it does. NA & NB stock plastic reinforcement bar & metal mounting brackets are the same & interchangeable. See side by side photos in gallery.
Q2 : Will this work with a “9LR style” air dam race bumper?
A : Yes it will. You can switch from OEM bumper to race air dam style bumper with no clearance issues. See link

Q3 : How much weight is saved over stock?
A : 7 lbs weight savings. It's not so much about how much weight is removed, what's more important in any track car is "where" the weight is removed. Anytime you can remove weight from areas beyond the wheel it improves the car's natural balance & gives you the control to strategically add weight back in where it's most beneficial for your setup or race series. Q4 : Will the bumper still fit like stock?

We recommend Professional Awesome universal splitter/aero support rods which can be used on either option of our bar.
